We are asked daily about exercise and is it important. The answer is YES! Exercise is crucial to heart health, blood sugar stabilization, normal hormone function, etc. We as humans are not intended to be so sedentary. Sitting all day in our chairs, under our artificial lights, eating are packaged meals of various chemicals. We are hunters and gatherers. Our bodies want to move! If we are moving out in the sunshine, all the better. I’m personally a big fan of Dr. Al Sears program called “Pace”. It’s simply interval training with very specific guidelines. I love my work out only being 20 minutes and the results in my body are superior to what I had experienced with my grueling hour routine. Get out there and get moving folks. You won’t regret it. Dr. Beim

We are seeing a dramatic increase in the severity of the food allergies in our pediatric patients. We have children that are showing up at our office covered in rashes and/or hives. These are of course the more extreme examples of how food allergies present. Parents need to know that your child does not have to be covered in a rash to have a food issue. Most children actually have more chronic problems like stomach aches, ear infections, eczema, headaches, runny noses, etc. A wonderful book we highly recommend for any parent who has an allergy child is “The Unhealthy Truth”. Great book that does a truly wonderful job of educating people on this dramatic increase in food allergies and sensitivities (not only our children but also in the adult population).

Well we are happy to report that hcg does indeed re-set your metabolism. I’m in my second month of maintenance and never vary more than 6 ounces from my ending weight. What is amazing to me is that I’m on a very normal diet. I still watch my intake but I haven’t found anything to be off limit. I am able to have a piece of cake at a party or a drink with friends on a Friday night and my weight stays the same. I very much believe in this program.

Most people don’t realize they are suffering from adrenal fatigue because they do not really know what the symptoms are. The most common symptom is fatigue, simply put you wake up tired and you go to bed tired. We often hear comments like “no matter how much I sleep I’m still exhausted”. This makes life very difficult indeed. Especially when the other hormones start declining also. The best way to diagnose an adrenal issue is to do a comprehensive test utilizing saliva that shows the levels of cortisol in a patient’s body over a 24 hour period. Once the issue is identified it is simply a matter of getting the person on the right protocol to support and rebuild the system.

The liver acts as an “in-line” filter for the removal of foreign substances and wastes from the blood. The kidneys filter wastes from the blood into the urine, while the lungs remove volatile gases as we breathe. Our body is designed to utilize natural substances, which includes foods, herbs and phytochemicals. Any foreign substance will serve as a stimulus to our immune system, which has the function of removing these substances. Although the toxicity of a chemical may vary, it is the job of the liver to reduce toxins into compounds that the body can safely handle and eliminate through the kidneys (as urine), skin (as sweat), lungs (as expelled air) and bowels (as feces). Maintaining these eliminative organs in good working order is essential for one’s good health to continue. While there are many detoxification programs available, they differ in their actions and their intent. Some detoxification programs (DP) work only with the bowels, others may cleanse the liver or the blood, and others may aid the kidneys or the skin in their functions. By combining these detox programs into a total health program one can effectively restore their health to an optimal level and look younger in the process. When the body can eliminate toxins, then health is restored and energy and vigor are revitalized. Many different approaches to detoxification and wellness will work, even though they attack the problem at different levels. Any program that augments detoxification will improve health. Other factors must be considered in detoxification, like nutrition, water, exercise, rest, sunshine, and fresh air. It’s important to understand that detox is a necessary step in obtaining good health but it does not come without a price. For many, detoxification may produce symptoms of headaches, nausea, malaise and vomiting due to the toxins being released [Herxheimer Reaction]. If this occurs, one should back off the program and proceed slowly. Proceeding too fast with detoxification can have disastrous results when toxins are released into the circulation. It’s very important that a persons body should is primed and ready to eliminate toxins before they are released. It is especially important that the bowels, kidneys and liver is prepared properly before starting a detox. Only by having all organs of elimination in proper operating order can our body begin to dump toxins efficiently and maximally. Detoxification is essential for good health to exist. Our body must eliminate toxins daily or we would die immediately. Since our environment is more toxic today, our livers are over stressed with environmental toxins to deal with daily. Processing other toxins, when the liver is stressed, may be delayed. Detoxification is also a lifestyle change. For it is by the way we live that determines our health and how our liver processes toxins. Detoxification is easy if we eat a wholesome natural organic diet and live life in a natural way. But for those who want their cake and eat it too, detoxification may be compromised. A change your lifestyle may be needed and detoxification will be forthcoming. Nature has afforded us the chance to live in a toxic environment and not be affected by it. Of course, we have to live right to get that chance. Without detoxification we may not get a second chance.

When the EDTA combines with these minerals in your circulatory system, they are filtered out through the kidneys and eliminated from the body in the urine. Arteriosclerosis, a medical condition caused by chronic changes in the arterial walls, eventually produces obstructions to the blood flow. The mechanism of action of chealtion treatments is still debated as is frequently true in all medical treatments, but nonetheless there clinically is an increase in the oxygenated blood supply to every cell and tissue in the body.

The adrenals enlarge and increase their output. The adrenals cannot maintain a high output indefinitely. Therefore they begin to reduce their production and all the functions of the endocrine system begins to slow down. Finally, adrenal exhaustion is the final phase before adrenal failure, when all systems fail and life is threatened. The following are some of the symptoms of adrenal dysfunction: · Digestive problems · Increased serum cholesterol · Severe weight gain or loss · Diarrhea or Constipation · Menstrual problems · Sleep disturbances · Decrease in sexual arousal · Impotence · Hair loss · Increased urination · Chronic nonspecific pain · Sensitivity to smells, light or sound · Hypoglycemic Symptoms · Dark Circles under the eyes · Dizziness upon standing · Poor immune modulation · Brittle hair & nails · Exhaustion · Inability to calm down · Panic attacks or anxiety · Depression · Mental frustration · Memory loss or inability to think · Irritability - rapid mood swings · Chronic fatigue · Bloating & Fluid retention · Bone loss · Low back or sciatica pain · Heart arrhythmia · Inflammation, joint pain · Poor toleration for exercise · Catch colds easily · Sensitive to bright light · Feeling weak and shaky · Poor circulation · Allergies To determine if a person is suffering from adrenal fatigue, we recommend a 24 hour circadian panel (hormone test). This test will check the function of your cortisols over a 24 hour period. Low function can be easily addressed through a custom compounded adrenal cream or a combination of natural supplements that are designed to support the adrenals.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a biological, brain based condition that is characterized by poor attention and distractibility and/or hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. It is one of the most common mental disorders that develop in children. If left untreated, ADHD can lead to poor school/work performance, poor social relationships and a general feeling of low self esteem. ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder is a general term frequently used to describe individuals that have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder without the hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. The terms are often used interchangeably for both those who do and those who do not have symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsiveness. We believe that many nutritional deficiencies contribute to this issue. Our focus is on identifying and improving these deficiencies.

Insomnia can cause problems during the day, such as excessive sleepiness, fatigue, trouble thinking clearly or staying focused, or feeling depressed or irritable. It is not defined by the number of hours you sleep every night. Although the amount of sleep a person needs varies, most people need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a night. It has become a prevalent problem in our society and not one easily addressed since the reasons can be as wide and varied as the individuals themselves.

Practitioners select treatments according to a patient consultation that explores the physical and psychological state[2][3] of the patient, both of which are considered important to selecting the remedy.[3] According to Hahnemann, serial dilution, with shaking between each dilution, removes the toxic effects of the substance, while the essential qualities are retained by the diluent (water, sugar, or alcohol).
